She writes a few columns for various publications in China. Rong has won multiple awards from CUNY J-School, Society of Professional Journalists, Deadline Club and New America Media. She received grants from the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting and the Fund for Investigative Journalism and is currently an Alicia Patterson fellow.
